Assisting Sara

At Battersea Arts Centre, London for Scratch Festival.

‘Assisting Sara’ was written by me and performed with my sister, Rebecca – we were billed as ‘The Bunting Birds’ – for the 2009 Scratch Festival at Battersea Arts Centre.

It was sketch based on the extreme conditions of caring for our mother, who was living with multiple sclerosis (MS).

Scratch was invented at Battersea Arts Centre as a way for artists to share ideas and unfinished shows with audiences at an early stage and to get feedback. Scratch events have derived from a rich history of experimentation and audience collaboration.
